A visit to Facade Body Art and Academy – Body Painting Shoot for Illusion Magazine
TODAY I was lucky enough to be painting Jade Marie my model whom I painted at Paradise Jam in Feb 2013. The studio is located in Hemel Hempstead just off M25 founded by Paul Hemming @ Facade Body Art Supplies who is the authorised distributor of Y-Body glitter, glue and stencils as well as Cameleon Paint.
When I turned up at 10 am , Jade Marie told me that the photographer wasn’t going to turn up, we had to shoot with my mobile phone camera and Paul’s camera for a shoot. However, however! Jade Marie the model and myself were very happy with the images we did! Actually, it was probably less stressful to shoot them ourselves.
I cannot show you the artwork as it’s for Illusion Magazine. Hopefully, they will like the image and choose to publish it. 🙂
The Mini Tour: Facade Body Art is based in Hemel Hempstead in a Business Centre Unit. All of the stencils produced here are of the highest quality. I didn’t know how much work was involved to produce one of these little stencils until Paul showed me.
the stencil sheets are water-based adhesive, that’s one thing I learned today.
one of the stencil cutting machines
the designed has to be hand picked individually
Removing any tiny debris with a static duster
The top sticky layer is placed on top of the stencils
Squidgeeing the layer to eliminate any air bubbles
trimming off the edges
Hand cutting each stencil individually
Finished! It costs you 40 pence per stencil.
So in the busy summer months make sure you stock up your stencils well in advance! Made in the UK, and help to support this small business 🙂 x
